A quick tip what to do when experiencing a small roof leak until the roofer can get there!
A roof leak can be worrisome in the middle of a rain storm.
A stain on the ceiling is usually the first sign you have a roof leak. This stain will not go away on it’s own. It is the sign of a leak and a professional should be called in to find the source of the water leak.
A roofer isn’t always available right away. Here’s a tip of what you can do yourself to possible avoid more damage to your ceiling.
Take a tool with a sharp point, such as an ice pick or a Philips head screw driver. Use the tool to put a very small hole in the ceiling right in the middle of where the water stain is forming. Put a large bucket or trash can underneath to catch the water. This allows the water to drip out rather than ponding on the ceiling above and causing the damage to expand into a larger area.
